Adal Sultanate: The Brave Islamic Kingdom of Somalia That Fought Against Christian Ethiopia
The Adal Sultanate was a great Islamic kingdom in the Horn of Africa, existing from 1415 to 1577. Founded by Sabr ad-Din III in the highlands of Harar, this kingdom was known for its fierce resistance against the Christian Kingdom of Ethiopia (Sulaymaniyah Dynasty). Under the leadership of figures such as Sultan Badlay, Mahfuz, and especially Imam Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi, Adal achieved remarkable success in conquering Abyssinia, using firearms and advanced military strategies.
