Helping Without Considering Background: The Story of the Prophet SAW and Two Jewish Women
Sacrifice is a key trait in the life of Prophet Muhammad SAW. He never hesitated to help anyone, even if it meant sacrificing his own interests. For example, when he saw two Jewish women struggling to carry their belongings, the Prophet immediately stepped in without asking about their background.
A companion was surprised and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you help them?"
The Prophet replied, "We are all children of Adam. Allah commands us to help one another." This story teaches that sacrifice and cooperation are not limited to our own group but extend to all human beings.
Daily Virtues: Smiles, Gifts, and Love
Prophet SAW was known for his gentleness, patience, and generosity. Whenever someone came to seek advice, he welcomed them with a smile and kind words. He often gave gifts, especially to orphans.
One day, the Prophet saw an orphan playing. He approached the child and gave him some dates. The child was overjoyed. This event reminds us that small acts of kindness—such as a gift or gentle words—can bring happiness to others.
Love in Action: Visiting a Sick Companion
The most prominent quality of the Prophet was his love for others. He encouraged his followers to love and respect each other. At one time, he visited a sick companion. Not only did he offer encouragement, but the Prophet also helped clean the companion's house.
When asked why, he replied, "Indeed, faith is difficult, so make its path easy. Goodness is near, so bring it closer. Evil is far, so keep it away." This story shows that love is not just words but must be demonstrated through actions.
Lessons: Becoming a Better Person
From the biography of the Prophet, we learn three things. First, be ready to sacrifice and help without considering background. Second, small acts of kindness in daily life can create happiness. Third, love must be translated into real actions.
By applying these principles in daily life, may we become better people and bring happiness to those around us.
