Severe Flooding in East Malaysia
Major flooding hit three states in East Malaysia, causing more than 10,000 people to be displaced.
Current Situation
Kelantan recorded 5,234 victims in 38 relocation centers while the East Coast Highway (JRPT) was closed. Terengganu recorded 3,187 victims with three areas reporting landslides. Pahang recorded 1,892 victims in 15 relocation centers.
Aid Distributed
The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Fire Department have been deployed for rescue operations. Food and protection assistance have also been distributed by the respective state Islamic councils.
