According to historical records, Goliath, who was more than six cubits tall (approximately 3 meters), appeared with a heavy shield and full weaponry. However, Prophet David, armed only with a sling and five smooth stones from the river, calmly stepped onto the battlefield. With full confidence, he said: "You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Hosts."
The Decisive Moment – In a swift movement, Prophet David took one stone, placed it on the sling, and launched it directly at Goliath's forehead. The stone pierced the giant's skull, causing Goliath to fall face down. Without hesitation, Prophet David took Goliath's own sword and cut off his head.
The commander of the Philistine army, witnessing the event, panicked and fled, while the Bani Israel army chased them all the way to the gates of the cities of Gat and Ekron. This victory marked the beginning of Prophet David's rise as a leader of Bani Israel.
Witnesses' Reactions – An Israeli soldier who did not want to be identified said, "We could not believe what we saw. A shepherd boy defeated a mighty giant! This is truly a miracle."
This event continues to be remembered among followers of the Abrahamic religions as a symbol of courage, faith, and God's assistance to His sincere servant. Prophet David was later elevated as a king and prophet, ruling with justice and wisdom.
